HOW MEN CAN STEP UP THEIR FLOSSING GAME

You can throw your picksters in the bin and say goodbye to the bloody grins after what should have been a quick once over.

Men’s lifestyle’s and their teeth are often at odds. But who doesn’t deserve a first thing in the morning espresso, shiraz with that steak, sugary drink to accompany a hangover burger?

All of these come at the expense of desired whiteness – to use a horribly un-PC phrase – not to mention general dental health. And who among us hasn’t emerged from a dental smarting with a pain centred more on the hip pocket than anywhere around the jaw? You can’t anaesthetise a $500 filling.

We all do the daily brush thing as a matter of routine. Some of us may be especially diligent and do the recommended twice daily thing. Congrats Mr Smug. But as for flossing on the reg? Not so much.

All men could up their flossing game and that’s why the next gen of oral health gadgets – hands up if you love a shiny new electronic – is worth your attention. They dislodge decay-causing particles between the teeth using either jets of pressurised air or water.

Kinda like scaled down versions of what those overcharging bastards at the dentists use. Your teeth will not only look better, but this is a purchase with a massive ROI in terms of bills down the track. But remember they are an adjunct, not the main game.
